Recent studies are showing us that Cocoa is one of the natures best antioxidant which have the compounds that promote a healthy heart. Cocoa is consumed throug0ut the world in the form of Chocolate bars which are favourite among kids and grown-ups equally. Though cocoa is cultivated mainly in Africa, South America and south east Asia but the major chocolate processing nations are located in Europe and North America.
Flavonol for heart and brain benefits
Cocoa contains flavonol which is good for cardiovascular System, flavour is the compound that give sour taste to cocoa and the amount of flaconol is higher in Dark chocolates compared to milk chocolates, that makes dark chocolates more healthier than milk chocolates. Studies have shown that cocoa flavanols appear to increase synthesis of nitric oxide by blood vessels, increasing blood flow thus suggesting that cocoa flavanols could aid in treatment of very serious vascular complications associated with long-term diabetes. New Studies also proved that flavonol is good for our brain health due to its ability to promote blood flow to certain areas of the brain.
Antioxidants in Cocoa and chocolates
Recent Discoveries made us clear that cocoa is one of the biggest natural antioxidant source it contains atioxident compounds such as epicatechins and polyphenols and cocoa powder contain two times more atioxident that red wine and thrice more antioxidants than green tea. So consuming cocoa can help you to stay young because these antioxidants are capable of fighting free radicals that make our body deteriorate.

Recent studies lead by A studyies shows that the antioxidants contained in cocoa are likely to increase survival of heart attack. By eating chocolate two or more times per week, heart attack survivors cut their risk of dying from heart disease threefold compared to those who do not eat chocolate.
